Ex-Florida QB Jalen Kitna gets plea deal in child porn case
Jalen Kitna Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Former Florida quarterback Jalen Kitna, the son of longtime NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, reached a plea deal Wednesday over his arrest on child pornography charges last November.

As part of the plea deal, Kitna had all five child pornography charges dropped, according to Edgar Thompson of the Orlando Sentinel. Instead, Kitna will be charged with two instances of disorderly conduct. Each carries a maximum sentence of 60 days in jail and $500 fine.

Eighth Judicial Circuit Judge Susan Miller-Jones placed Kitna on six months probation for each count, but Kitna may not be subject to the second six-month term if he abides by the terms of the plea deal.

Kitna delivered an apology statement during the proceedings, apologizing to his family and friends and adding that he would take “valuable lessons” from the situation as he moves forward.

Kitna was arrested last November after investigators allegedly found several pornographic images of children on his phone, some of which he sent to others on Discord. At the time, he was suspended from the Gators football team and has since been kicked off the team and banned from campus until November 2025.
