All 105 is a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State football player, and this is a profile of third-year wide receiver Anthony Ivey
Height: 5-foot-11
Weight: 178 pounds
Hometown: Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Before Penn State: Ivey came to Penn State after four seasons, four all-state honors and three district championships at Manheim Township High School.
As a senior, Ivey caught 49 passes for 654 yards and scored nine total touchdowns. That year, he accounted for 875 all-purpose yards. He also eclipsed 500 yards receiving in his sophomore and junior seasons.
Ivey made a big impact on special teams at Manheim Township. He set the school record for most kickoff return yards.
His performance in 2021 allowed him to compete in the Polynesian Bowl. 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals all listed Ivey as a four-star recruit, and he committed to Penn State in October 2020, choosing Penn State over Auburn, Michigan State, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
2022: Ivey redshirted his freshman season.
Last year: Ivey only played in one game.
Where he stands: With receivers such as Julian Fleming— who transferred in over the winter after four seasons at Ohio State— and returners such as Harrison “Trey” Wallace, Omari Evans, Kaden Saunders and Liam Clifford, Ivey will have to fight for playing time in 2024.
A quote by Ivey: “The first year was great. I’m putting the trust into the coaches, into the staff, trusting that they’ll develop me in all the right ways.” — Ivey at Penn State’s second-year player media availability in February 2023.
A quote about Ivey: “He’s made a bunch of big plays. He has earned out coaches’ respect. I know he’s earned the defense’s respect being over there on the D squad. I think he has a bright future.” — James Franklin on Ivey.
